The production of nuts in the world.
The cultivation of the nuts spread to various parts of the world with a presence in the global scenario which has seen an increasing production trend. In 1984 the main producing states were the US (market share of 24%), China (14%) and Turkey (14%). In 1994, faced with a number of hectares walnut more than tripled worldwide, the major manufacturers continued to be the US (22%), China (18%) and Turkey (12%). In 2004, China and the US had shares equal to 25% and 20%, but a big leap forward was made by Iran as third largest producer (12%) who stood before the Turkey (9%). Over the last five years however, Chile has established itself in the market becoming in 2015 the third largest exporter of walnuts. This thanks to the high quality and great taste of nuts grown in the central region of the country.
The European Market.
In Europe, the consumption of nuts is so vast as to consider the Old Continent, as a macro region in which the productions are not sufficient to meet consumer demand, so as to require the importation of large quantities of product that come to today especially by the US and Chile with over 200,000 tons of nuts a year, maintains the record of most importing country.
The Italian Market.
In Italy the average annual consumption of nuts can be secured around 60,000 metric tons, while domestic production which, 15 years ago, stood at around 13,000 tons. The downsizing of the request for production of nuts bell, not more competitive than imported varieties and better appreciated by consumers, has further increased the need to import such as North America (California), South America (Chile and Argentina), Australia, Europe (France and countries EST).
For us of Marnuts understanding of the socio-cultural contexts of the individual in which we operate is essential to pursue commercial projects based on values such as honesty, respected and mutual growth.
